The great idea is half of successful final, but the way of realization is not less important question. If we talk about 3D than it should be great idea and power realization. In comparison with ordinary motion design without complex 3D items, the real beauty 3D scenes are more complicated and they take more time to get ultimate results. Volumetric design gives you the new tools to create whatever you need but you need to donate your resources. Of course, there are a lot of flexible features and methods to get round it and use fake 3D or to speed up the process of obtaining volumetric results. Adobe After Effects in couple with Cinema 4D give you useful instruments to do volumetric design and motion design at the same time.
I tried to combine 3D modeling with biological systems such as microbiology and molecular biology. I guess visualization of some systems has really useful practical application to make part of activity easier.
